Victim Support
Victims should receive the support they need to help them get
their lives back to normal as soon as possible after a crime has
been committed. Crime can affect people in a variety of ways and
how a person will react to a crime can depend on a number of
factors, including their personal circumstances and the type of
crime they have suffered.Victims need to be provided with
information and advice so that they can make informed choices and
decisions about what services they need and what action they can
take to help them rebuild their lives.
Crime is a disempowering experience and one of the most
important elements of support for all crime victims is helping them
to regain a sense of control. One way of achieving this is to
attend a Referral Order
Panel. Alternatively they may seek support through Restorative Justice.
