We have lots to offer at the Museum to make families and children feel as welcome as possible!
Holiday Activities
During Peterborough school
holidays we offer themed activities at the
museum. We usually offer arts and craft
activities every weekday morning from 10.30am 12.30pm and costumed
interpreters can often be seen roaming the building as
well.
These events are often funded by the
Peterborough Adult Learners Service (PALS) to enable families to
spend quality time together. We also create trails and quizzes for
all the family, ask at reception during your visit for more
information.Interactive Galleries
At the Museum we pride ourselves in our
family-friendly atmosphere and as a result we are putting
interactive, hands-on activities in all our
galleries. The archaeology gallery was the first
to receive the interactive treatment when it re-opened in February
2006 and since then we have been working on improving the hands-on
elements of the other galleries, including the temporary
exhibitions on the ground floor.
Under 5s
A range of activity boxes aimed
especially for the under fives and their families are in galleries
around the Museum, as well as a mini trail for our younger
