On-street parking

The Council provide on-street parking in the form of Pay & Display bays, limited waiting bays and residents parking bays/zones.

Pay & Display bays

Pay & Display bays are located throughout the city centre, on many main routes near to the shopping areas. The current fee for parking on-street is £1 and the length of time you're able to purchase varies by street. Clear signage at the street pay machines inform how long you're able to park. Some areas have all day on-street parking, and the current charge is £4 for these areas.

All day on-street parking is found on East Station Road and River Lane, off Thorpe Road.

Limited Waiting bays

Limited waiting is also found on many main routes within the city, and the length of time you're able to park free of charge is displayed on the adjacent signage to the bays. The length of time will vary by location, so make sure you check the signage at the location where you're parked.

Residents Parking bays

Many residential streets within Peterborough are very congested, and to protect space on the highway for residents to park, Resident Bays are often used solely for resident use. These are either specific to the street or can be found within resident parking zones. Clear highway signage will indicate where these restrictions are found, and what type of permit is required.

Application forms for Resident parking can be found here.

Other on-street restrictions

Many streets within Peterborough have waiting and parking restrictions - these can be in the form of yellow lines, loading restrictions, access protection markings, crossing "zig-zags" and so on. Please be aware of these restrictions and park legally and appropriately.
