Educational awards and benefits - education maintenance award
Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) ia a weekly payment directly to young people who stay on in learning after they reach statutory leaving age (that is, after the end of their compulsory schooling). Young people may also receive bonuses if they remain on their course and make good progress with their learning.
