From the Ga tribe of Southern
Ghana, their music takes traditional rhythms and chants from their own Ga tradition and
those of a variety of other West African cultures, rearranging them in a modern and accessible way.

A seven-piece, highly-fuelled band with originality at  the forefront of their sound. Totally committed and driven, with a hard-hitting and infectious infusion of dance, this band will have all diehard music lovers skanking and grooving.

This Peterborough-based award-winning school will take your breath away as they amaze audiences on the Festival stage once again.

This vibrant band present a wildmix of music traditions with the focus on dance music and celebration with soulful Eastern European melodies. With a reputation of getting audiences dancing until they drop their driving ska-like beats, soul-wrenching minor melodies lift
and delight audiences.

KARMADILLO

Sometimes, the songs make you think of George Formby winning the Eurovision Song Contest. At others, the type of sound you'd like to hear on a Caribbean beach relaxing with a rum and coke. Come and listen to the unique and fabulous sounds of this undescribable music and judge for yourselves! A unique brand of quirky acoustic pop folk-rock.

is the comedy string trio (did we mention also musically challenged?) that is astounding audiences and winning awards all over the world. They are taking their classical skills into cabaret, comedy, and theatre with some incredible results...

you don't actually have to listen that closely) you'll hear shades of Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Steve Earle and others, and there's already a growing catalogue of original True Deceivers tunes.

DIEGO BROWN & THE GOOD FAIRY

An eclectic duo with unusual vocals and clever lyrics, backed by kazoo, swanee whistle, accordion, melodica, bicycle wheel and guitar. Serving up a deliciously weird musical stew, this award-winning duo find glamour in the everyday - dogs, barber shops and graffiti!

CITY OF PETERBOROUGH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA

'POMP & CIRCUMSTANCE'

The finale to the 2007 Festival will be given by the City of Peterborough Symphony Orchestra with their regular conductor, RUSSEL KEABLE, who delighted and involved audiences last year in the Central Park concert.     This now well-liked outside concert will include music well known and popular  - Tchaikowsky's dreamy Swan Lake to Stravinsky's lively FIREBIRD, and with Rodgers and Hammerstein's OKLAHOMA and Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance No. 1 thrown in, there should be something for everyone.

THE LUMINARIUM

Levity is a giant installation that you will be free to explore and enjoy. Spacious domes and many tunnels make this spectacular experience a Festival visitors must!

This year's Festival fairground will be open Thursday night to Sunday. From dodgems to teacups, thrills and spills...

THE MAYOR'S CHARITIES DUCK RACE

 
The race will involve dropping several thousand numbered plastic ducks into the River Nene, which will race down the river to the winning post.

The Peterborough Artists Open Studios Group invite you to see how they work, what they use and why they do it!
Displays and sales, including Printing, Weaving, Mosaic and Jewellery Making. The artists will welcome questions about their work.
