Peterborough Healthy Living Partnership

In both East and Central wards HLP will be missed by local residents as it was rooted within the local community and supported local people to shape and participate in a wide range of activities and services. In the five year life of the project nearly 9,000 people took part in HLP activities ranging from volunteering, training and skills development to parenting support, cook and eat and holiday programmes. The attached Evaluation Report outlines these achievements in more detail. On a really positive note, HLP will continue through mainstreaming of the work. In East ward this will be through the new Children’s Centre due to open in April 2008. And in Central ward, the activities and services developed will be sustained through the range of organisations who were HLP partners. The good practice established will also link into NHS Peterborough’s continued involvement to ensure health is continually on the agenda within local disadvantaged communities.
