Ashton 'Quiet Lane' proposal
Consultation has been carried out on a proposal to designate Bainton Green Road and part of High Field Road in Ashton as 'Quiet Lanes'. Quiet Lanes allow shared use by walkers, cyclists and horse riders, as well as vehicles. The formal consultation ran from Friday 14 December 2007 until Friday 18 January 2008. Notices and plans were circulated to addresses within the proposed Quiet Lanes and to other statutory consultees, or can be downloaded from the links below.
During an earlier informal consultation, introductory Information was
distributed to residents. This outlines the implications of
Quiet Lane designation and also gives weblinks for the
relevant Regulations and guidance from the Department for
Transport.
The designation order was made on 28
February 2008, and will take effect on Monday 10 March 2008.
Signs will be erected to indicate the entrance and exit
points of the Quiet Lane area.
