Appeals against fixed penalty notices

How to make an appeal if issued with a penalty charge notice

Appeals for Penalty Charge Notices must be made in writing, by one of the following methods, to:

Environmental Enforcement
Bridge House
Town Bridge
Peterborough
PE1 1HU

All Appeals should be made within 21 days of the penalty charge notice being issued - this will then ensure that the discounted payment of £50.00 is held for the remaining discounted days should your appeal be rejected.

Appeals must give the reasons and supply any evidence for the appeal and quote the fixed penalty notice reference number.
An Officer, independent of the case, will study the evidence, and write to you within 28 days to inform you, with reasons, if the appeal is being dismissed or allowed.

If you appeal against the Penalty Notice, legal action will not be started until after any appeal is heard. If an appeal is allowed, no legal action will be taken.
