  • What do I get if I enter and finish the race? Half marathon finishers will get an exclusive never seen at any race before, original GER gold medal, a goody bag, a t-shirt, plus much much more! Fun runners will get the GER Fun Run gold medal!
  • What services will be there at the finish area? Free sports massages, free foot care, purchase souvenir photos, have your medal engraved, charity stalls, food and beverages, mini fairground for children, water station, first aid, results area, award podium and more...
  • When do I get my race pack? For entries recieved before July 31st 2008 we will send race packs out by the end of August 2008. For entries recieved on or after 1st August 2008 we will send your race packs out by 7th October 2008.
  • Am I able to have a refund or deferral if I am unable to run? No, there will be no refunds once you have entered the race. Names cannot be changed on an entry and entries cannot be deferred. See Terms & Conditions
  • What refreshments are available out on the course? We have water stations at 3, 6, 9, 11 miles and at the finish area. (Course Map)
  • Can anyone take part in the fun run? Yes absolutely! Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Is there any support for entrants using wheelchairs? Yes, please contact Amee Garala, Development Officer for Disability Sports on 01733 863774.
  • Are there any first aid points along the course? Yes, fully qualified first aiders will be located at every water station. St John's and a fully equipped ambulance will be at the finish area and 2 paramedics motorcycles will be on the route.
  • I have changed my address since entering; can I change my contact details? All amendments to entries will be charged a £10 administration fee. Please email thegreateasternrun@peterborough.gov.uk
  • How long is the course? The half marathon is 13.1 miles and the fun run is approximately 5km (or 3 miles). The Fun Run is not a race and therefore results are only available as a guideline.
  • Is there anywhere to leave my bags while I am running? Yes. A baggage tag with a number on it corresponds to your race number is included in your race pack. If you intend to use the baggage collection service please ensure this tag is tied securely and visibly to your baggage. Baggage trucks will be placed next to the race information point at the start area in Cathedral Square and they will transport your bag to the finish area for you to collect. You must show your race number upon collection.
  • Where can participants and spectators park on race day? All entrants will be issued with a free parking pass (in your race pack) for race day which entitles one vehicle to free parking at any official Peterborough City Council car park, details of which are on the race information sheet in your race pack. It is the entrants responsibility to ensure you have parked in an official Peterboruogh City Council car park.
  • What is the nearest train station to the race? Peterborough train station is situated less than 10 minute walk from the start area - a map detailing the best route is included in your race pack.
  • Are toilets available on the route? Male, female and disabled toilets will be located at the start and finish areas.  Additional toilets may be available (details to be confirmed). 
  • What should I do if I lose my race number or timing chip? If you lose your race number and timing chip before 6 October please email thegreateasternrun@peterborough.gov.uk to have another issued. If you lose your race number and timing chip after 6 October please come to the race information desk located in Cathedral Square on race day to have another one issued. You will need to bring proof of entry as either email, bank statement or a print out from the 'check you are in' section of this website.
  • What time do roads start closing and when do they reopen? Roads along the course will be closed from 10.00am until 2.30pm. To help minimise disruption roads will be being reopened behind the race from approximately 11.20am from the junction of Park Crescent and Park Road in a clockwise direction. Please tune into Hereward FM at 102.7fm to get the live traffic updates on race day.
  • When and where will the results be published? The results will be available online at www.greateasternrun.co.uk immediatley after the race.
  • Where can I book some accommodation? Peterborough Tourist Information Centre can provide details of local accommodation and you can call them at 01733 452336 or go to www.visitpeterborough.com
  • Are there expected time markers at the race start? Yes, along Long causeway you will find markers indicating different finishing times with the fastest located nearest to the start gantry.
