Peterborough City Council
Review of Polling Districts and Polling
Places
Peterborough City Council is conducting a
review of polling districts and polling places within its
area.
The purpose of the review is to ensure that
electors have such reasonable facilities for voting as are
practicable in the circumstances and with regard to the
accessibility needs of disabled persons.
A polling district is the area created by
splitting a parliamentary constituency into smaller parts within
which a polling place can be determined which is convenient to
electors.
Electors within the City or within a
parliamentary constituency which is partly in the City, may make
representations on the polling districts/places.
Furthermore, the Council would welcome any person, or body with
expertise in access for persons with any type of disability, to
make a representation. Any representations
should, if possible, include alternative places that may be used as
polling places. Representatives must be sent to
me by Friday, 19th October, 2007.
The Council must consider a report on the
review before 31 December 2007 and public
notice will be given of the date of the Council meeting on which
the report will be considered.
