Herlington Pre-school is one of the largest pre-schools in Peterborough with over 70 children attending every day.
We are looking to recruit a pre-school practitioner to work directly with all of our pre-school children.
The successful applicant must have a Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare.
The job is for 32 hours per week term time only.  Rate of pay is £6.02 for level 2 and £6.22 for Level 3.

The Husaini Pre-school are recruiting a Pre-school Deputy Supervisor to work with children aged 2.6 to 5 years at its setting on Burton Street. The position will be term time only from 9.00 1.00pm.
Applicants must:-
  • Hold an NVQ level 3 qualification or above.
  • Have previous experience of working as a deputy with this age range.
  • Have previous experience of planning for this age range.
  • Have knowledge of the new EYFS framework.
  • Have good communication and organisational skills.
Assist the Pre School Manager in:-
  • Providing the children with a safe, secure and stimulating environment.
  • When required effectively supervise staff.
  • Operating a key person system and liaise with staff.
  • Providing a high quality of teaching.
  • Support staff to plan, organise and implement a programme of activities to meet the needs of this age group.
  • Have good organisational skills to ensure administration of pre-school records is effective and well maintained.

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Pre-school Learning Alliance in partnership with Bretton Children's Centre.
Your main duties will include:
  • facilitating a variety of opportunities for parents, in groups and individually, to access support and develop skills in their role as parents/carers; focusing particularly on the social, emotional, intellectual, creative and physical development of their children to ensure they achieve the five outcomes of the every child matters framework;
  • working with agencies and individuals within the Bretton Children's Centre area to achieve the project's aims as detailed in the Children's Centre Business plan.
You will have:
  • ability to engage positively with parents/carers and professionals ;
  • knowledge and understanding of parenting, development of young children and current good practice in early years education and childcare;
  • ability to work effectively with minimum supervision when required;
  • good IT and communication skills;
  • an early years qualification at Level 3 or above;
  • ability to travel within a defined geographical area.

We are looking for a cheerful and enthusiastic person to join our after-school care team.  Looking after children from aged 4-11 you will be involved in organising and supervising play in our fun after-school club. You will work as part of a team of 3-4 people, looking after around 24 children.  Ideally we are looking for someone to work five days per week but can be flexible depending on circumstances.
Experience of working with children and a Level 2 qualification in childcare/playwork/education (or higher) is essential. Training is available, candidates should be willing to undertake training as required for the post.
