Introduction

Maureen Phillips, Assistant Director of Family
& Communities
Children's Social Care provide care and support to some of the
most vulnerable children in our community. It is a challenging and
exciting area in which we can really expect to make a
difference.
Our vision is to work in partnership with parents, carers,
children and young people to provide effective services. This
in turn will actively secure the safety and wellbeing of
children and young people, to promote their health,
development and learning. This will maximise each child's
potential to succeed in all they do, both in the present and in the
future.
Investing in services to children and families means investing
in the workforce to deliver them. The workforce development
strategy shows that we value staff for their essential contribution
to achieving the best outcomes for children. It means that
staff can expect support to develop professionally and to carry out
the demands of their role.
We look forward to welcoming all new staff who want to be part
of this vision and to share in the success of rapidly improving
front line services.
