Licence - Dangerous Wild
Animals
The keeping of dangerous wild animals is licensed under the
Dangerous Wild Animals Act 1976.
No person shall keep any dangerous wild animal without
first obtaining a licence from the Local Authority.

Conditions
Licences are renewable annually. We will arrange for a
veterinary surgeon to inspect your animal(s) and premise to ensure
that the conditions under which the animal(s) will be
kept are satisfactory, having regard for the species housing
including temperature and humidity, food and the safety of
the keepers, visitors to the property and general
public.
The Act does not apply to any dangerous wild animals kept
in:
- a zoo
- a circus
- a premises licensed as a pet shop
- a registered establishment for carrying out animal experiments

Apply
To apply for the licence you will need to,
- comply with the licence conditions
- complete the application form (208 KB, 2 pages) (for both new and renewal)
- pay the licence fee

You will also have to pay additional costs for the Authority's
vet to come out and inspect your premises and horses.
