you to see how they work, what they use and why they do it! In
preparation for the annual open studios event (which takes place
over three weekends in July) a number of local artists will be
demonstrating a variety of techniques including drawing, printing,
weaving, painting, mosaic and jewellery
making and will welcome questions about their work. Much of
the work will be for sale. There will also be opportunities to make
your own piece of art or craft with the guidance of a professional
artist.
Dates for Open Studios 2008:
5/6 July, 12/13 July and 19/20
July.
PAOS is a body of artists whose objective is to promote art
within our city; increasing public awareness and helping to educate
people in the arts and crafts.
This year 23 houses/studios will be open, showing and selling a huge range of work, from 34 artists including textiles, jewellery, patchwork, painting and much, much more. It is an opportunity for everyone to visit artists' studios, homes and gardens and see how they work, live and create. Look out for the red banners which will be hung outside each venue approximately two weeks before the start of the event. Check out the Peterborough Artists Open Studios website for
