Accredited Network Childminders

Below is a list of accredited network childminders.  For information on registered childminders you may wish to contact the Childcare Information Service (CIS).  The CIS holds details of all registered early years education and childcare in the area and offer confidential, impartial and free information to all members of the public.

 

Their freephone helpline is open between 8.30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday (with an answerphone service out of hours).  The service is also available by post, fax, email and internet via the local website www.opportunity-links.org.uk

 

A Childminding Network is a formal group of registered childminders within an identified locality, whose practice meets the standards laid out in the National Childminding Association (NCMA) Quality Childminding Charter.

 

Childminders will be assessed and recruited by the Co-ordinator to the Network, which means they will be part of a professional, quality assured service, which parents can feel confident to use.

 

Network Childminders will receive ongoing support and advice from the Co-ordinator as well as having any training needs met.

 

They will also be provided with the opportunity of becoming accredited to allow them to access Nursery Education Grant funding for 3 and 4 year olds.

 

The Co-ordinator can offer independent advice to both parents and childminders and can also provide a link between these and other organisations within the community.

 

The Peterborough Childminding Network has been approved by the National Childminding Association as a quality-assured NCMA Children Come First childminding network, able to accredit childminders to offer early years education.  This approval lasts from 10th January 2006 to 10th January 2009.
