In certain cases, pupils and post 16 students who do not
qualify for free or denominational transport may be allowed to
travel on existing buses contracted by the City Council, if seats
are available. Passes are issued strictly on a "first come, first
served" basis and the City Council cannot guarantee to give advance
warning if seats are no longer available at the commencement of
each term. The issue of a pass for one term does not guarantee the
issue of subsequent passes. Payment must be made prior to the
commencement of each term's travel.
Discretionary transport is NOT available on all
services contracted by the city council.
1. What is the parental contribution for
discretionary transport?
The contribution (which is subject to a yearly review) is as
follows:
£51 per half term per child
£102 per term per child

2. Will I be sent a reminder when my child's bus
pass needs renewing?
No. All parents are responsible for ensuring that their child
is in possession of a valid bus pass and must ensure that payment
is made 10 working days prior to the commencement of the travel
period
Note to parent/carer: If you have a permanent
disability which prevents you from taking your child to school,
then your child may be eligible for transport assistance.

THE START OF TERM FOR THE APPLICATION TO BE PROCESSED, AND DESPATCH
OF THE BUS PASS.
