The Great Eastern Run 2008
Charity Information
![]()
We are a small charity run and controlled by people with
learning difficulties. We help other people with learning
difficulties speak up and get their rights.
We need to raise money to make sure we can carry on helping
people to get a better quality of life in their local communities
in the future.
We are run and controlled by people with learning difficulties.
We work to improve the lives of all people with learning
difficulties.
We have learning difficulties.
In the past we used to be called labels like mentally
handicapped, mentally retarded, intellectually handicapped, or
mentally subnormal.
We didn't like these labels as they kept us down. We choose to
use 'learning difficulties' ourselves. It is a label which doesn't
hurt us as much as those above.
Jars should be labeled not people!
We know what it is like not to have much power in our
lives, to be treated differently from other people because we
have learning difficulties, to have other people making
decisions for us.
Help us raise vital funds through taking part in the Great
Eastern Run 2008 on 12 October 2008.
