A total of £23,000 raised during the Mayoral year of
Councillor Marion Todd will be presented to her selected charities
in the Mayor's Parlour at Peterborough Town Hall on Wednesday 23
July at 6 pm.
The money, plus any bank interest applicable when the account
is closed, will be split between Sue Ryder Care's Thorpe Hall
Hospice, Friends of Peterborough Hospitals and a number of youth
projects through Help a Peterborough Youth.
Councillor Todd said: "I am very grateful for the
marvellous support that has been contributed to my selected
charities during my year of office. It was a very busy year
during which I enjoyed meeting thousands of local residents and
representing the city council at a wide range of civic functions
both in Peterborough and further afield."
Among the charity events hosted by Councillor Todd and her
consort, husband Patrick Todd until his death in November,
succeeded by their daughter Lisa Todd, were an annual sausage
supper, charity ball, duck race, Last Night of the Proms, a
greyhound night and Peterborough Local History Society slide show.
Cllr Todd and her daughter Lisa also competed in the Great Eastern
Run fun run.
Ends.
