Results of the Citizenship survey 2007

New citizens and their guests attending citizenship ceremonies in Peterborough for October, November and December 2007 were surveyed to find out their views on the ceremony experience. 101 forms were completed and returned. Not all questions were answered and seven respondents did not turn over their forms to complete the second page.

The citizenship programme is managed by the Register Office staff for the Home Office. They complete the administration, manage and conduct the ceremony and update the Home Office.

We are pleased to share with you the outcome from the survey which is very positive. Everyone enjoyed the ceremonies and were pleased they were held in the Council Chamber at the Town Hall. They rated the information from the Home Office and the Register Office positively. There were a range of views about what was best about the ceremony and 31% indicated "everything". 76% indicated total satisfaction with the ceremony stating "nothing" needed to improve.

We are most grateful to the new citizens and their guests for letting us know their views. We shall use these comments to keep what is best and to make changes to improve where we can. These results may be viewed at the Register Office and on our website; GLADCA;  New Link; in the local newspaper; in the pack each new citizen receives (for one year) and in the City Council newsletter sent to all Peterborough homes. In addition 38 respondents indicated they would like to receive their own copy and gave us their name and address.
