Residents can look forward to being kept up to date with the
latest community news thanks to four new public information boards
being introduced by the Greater Dogsthorpe Partnership (GDP).
The boards are now in place in key parts of the Greater
Dogsthorpe area and can be found at: the Central Avenue shopping
parade; the Scalford Drive shopping parade; the Fulbridge Home
Zone; and the Welland Road/ Bluebell Avenue shops.
Decorated with the GDP logo and strapline "Working Together
for a Brighter Future", they have been designed to last for many
years to come. Local service providers have been made aware and a
team of local street leaders and residents' association members
with GDP staff have all agreed to keep these boards up to date with
the latest information.
Cate Harding, the new acting neighbourhood director, said: "I
am pleased to see the culmination of one of the initial projects of
the GDP and I hope that this initiative will be the start of a
community owned communications team. They will provide a useful
tool and aid better planning and forethought to promoting local
activities."
Residents are already noticing the benefits of the new boards
according to Maureen Nash, street leader responsible for the
Scalford Drive board.
She added: "While updating the board recently I was approached
by residents who complimented the GDP on the new Public Information
Boards and stated that they found it a really good way of finding
out about local events."
If you run a non-profit making organisation in our area or
wish to advertise a local event please contact June Campbell at the
GDP office on (01733) 317494.
