Peterborough City Council is urging customers who requested
services relating to pest control, bulky collections and bin
deliveries by calling the local authority on Tuesday (12 August) to
call Peterborough Direct.
A computer server which stores bookings made for these areas
has crashed resulting in the loss of bookings made on Tuesday. IT
technicians are working hard to resolve the situation and recover
the lost data. However, the city council would like to hear from
customers to minimise any inconvenience caused.
Peter Gell, section head for business regulation at the city
council, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause
to customers. We have now switched servers to resolve the
immediate problem, but bookings made on Tuesday 12 August have been
lost as a result at present. Therefore, we are keen to hear from
anybody who requested services relating to pest control, bulky
collections and bin deliveries on that day to get in touch."
Customers should call Peterborough Direct on (01733)
747474.
Ends.
