The Summer Reading Challengetm has been running as
Team Read in Peterborough libraries throughout the school holidays
with children racing to read six books to earn their very own gold
medal.
With the finishing date of Saturday 6 September fast
approaching, children taking part in Team Read are being urged to
pull out all the stops and race towards the finishing line to earn
their gold medal and the chance to meet famous author Narinda
Dhami.
An awards ceremony will be held on Saturday 11 October at the
Broadway Theatre in Peterborough to congratulate those that have
achieved the goal of reading six books over the holidays. There is
still two weeks to go and if children would like to join up all
they have to do is visit their local library to take part. At this
late stage children are advised to read something quick to get them
to finish in time.
Peterborough libraries are full of ideal titles ranging from
'Where's Wally?' to picture books for older readers such as 'High
in the clouds' written by Paul McCartney. Each book read will count
as everybody races towards the finishing line before the closing
date of Saturday 6 September.
For recommended reads visit the Peterborough libraries website
at www.peterborough.gov.uk/libraries
or for more information on how to take part in Team Read call

Ends.
