Talks and Lectures
Peterborough has a whole range of talks, presentations and lectures throughout the years, to appeal to the specialist or those who are just interested alike! Our talks aim to be both entertaining and informative and usually include aspects of local history and/or relate to the Museum's collections.
We have a programme of evening lectures throughout the year, as well as talks as part of our many events. In addition there are additional lecture programmes provided by the Friends of Peterborough Museum and the Peterborough Museum Society which are open to all.
A number of Museum staff give talks and lectures on site or by going out to groups and educational organisations. All our talks tend to be illustrated and last about 90 minutes including questions. We do charge a fee to cover costs, staff time and help generate income for the Museum. This fee is currently £30 for a talk (£40 from April 2009), plus travel expenses if the venue is outside of Peterborough.
Please click on the links below to find out more about the talks given by our speakers, which are listed by subject are or by speaker. Please contact us on (01733) 864663 or e-mail: museum@peterborough.gov.uk if you would like to book (all speakers are subject to availability).
