News from Peterborough City Council

The Peterborough materials recycling facility returned to normal operations this afternoon (Thursday) following the completion of on-site investigations by Cambridgeshire Constabulary into the discovery of the body of a new-born baby girl yesterday (Wednesday) morning.

 

Viridor Waste Management, which operates the facility on behalf of Peterborough City Council, immediately arranged support and counselling for staff who were on duty when the body was discovered.  During the police investigation Viridor, one of the UK's leading recycling and waste management companies, ensured that the city council's kerbside collections in Peterborough could continue as normal.
