Minerals and Waste Preferred Options (Stage) 1
Using the feedback from Issues
and Options consultation, the Councils moved forward
to the Preferred Options (Stage) 1.
A formal consultation on the Preferred Options 1 of the
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Minerals and Waste Development Plan
Documents was undertaken for a six week period which ended on 18
December 2006. All comments (known as 'representations) that were
received by Peterborough City Council or
Cambridgeshire County Council can be viewed.

Development Plan Documents

The three Minerals and Waste Preferred Options
Development Plan Documents (DPD) are:
- Core Strategy Development Plan
Document sets out the Councils' strategic vision and
objectives for mineral extraction and waste management development.
It also contains a suite of development control policies to guide
minerals and waste development.
The document applies to the whole of the Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council.
- Site Specific Development Plan
Document sets out the Councils' preferred options for
site specific land allocations for mineral extraction and waste
management development including safeguarded areas, consultation
areas, other policy specific boundaries and supporting site
specific policies.
The document applies to the whole of the administrative areas of Cambridgeshire County Council and Peterborough City Council.
- Earith and Mepal Area Action Plan Development Plan Document sets out the preferred options for future minerals extraction and waste management development in the Earith - Mepal area. It covers site specific policies and issues such as transport, flood protection, sustainable use of land, including improving the quality of the Ouse Washes, through the provision of additional flood alleviation capacity and after uses. The document applies only to the Earith - Mepal area as defined in the Plan.

Additional Preferred options 1 Documents
In addition there are
- Sustainability Appraisal / Strategic Environmental Assessment reports. Each of the DPD's are subject to a Sustainability Appraisal (SA) and their proposals and options have been appraised against local economic, social and environmental objectives. The Preferred Options SA's are:-
