Space4 brings 'Opening Doors to Hidden Heritage' to
Peterborough, a new exhibition, devised and produced by
Space4 with Heritage Lottery funding, giving a selection
of the most historically interesting locations in and around
Peterborough.
Some of the locations people may already be familiar with,
while others may be discovering them for the first time. However,
all show how culturally rich and historically significant many
places in Peterborough are, which people see each day and may take
for granted.
Each of the locations have a rich history and while some can
look forward to a lively future, for others their future is
uncertain and their past might soon be all we have to remember them
by.
Manager of the Space4 Clifton Stewart said: "Space4
has a strong record of working with the communities of Peterborough
and this project enabled us to use our expertise in a different and
entirely visual way to highlight the diverse and rich heritage of
Peterborough and the surrounding areas. I hope as many people as
possible will take time out to open doors to their hidden
heritage."
This exhibition promotes the website
www.peterboroughhiddenheritage.org which will be going live in the
next couple of weeks and a CD which is being made available to all
schools in the Peterborough area.
The exhibition at the Space4 opened on Saturday 20
September and runs until the 13 October. Space4 is
situated at the Peterborough Museum and is open from 10 am to 5 pm
Tuesday to Saturday and 12 noon to 4 pm Sunday. For further
information, call (01733) 864663.
Ends.
