People can find out more about becoming fractional youth
support workers for Peterborough City Council's young people's
service at an open evening at the city council's Youth Access
Point, Central Library, Broadway, Peterborough, on Tuesday 25
November 2008 between 5.30 pm and 7 pm.
People will be able to meet city council youth workers, who
co-ordinate community-based youth projects in the city, and some of
the young people with which they work.
Councillor Matthew Dalton, spokesman for young people, said:
"The youth support workers will play a key role in the facilitation
of community based youth work in local neighbourhoods. They will
work with young people, building positive relationships and
supporting them to engage in projects and activities regarding
their personal and social development."
Cherry Lester, Peterborough City Council's manager of the
young people's service north, west and rural locality team, said:
"There are a range of posts available varying from six hours a week
to 18 hours a week, either on a temporary or permanent basis.
Applicants must also be willing to work in the evening and an NVQ
in youth work is desirable."
For more information about becoming a fractional youth support
worker call Cherry Lester on (01733) 864468.
Ends.
