Residents in Peterborough have just a few weeks left to give their views on public services and what life is like in Peterborough.

The New Place survey, which takes place nationally every two years, asks people in Peterborough for their views on services provided by Peterborough City Council, Cambridgeshire Constabulary, NHS Peterborough, and Peterborough Council for Voluntary Service.

The questions concentrate on those areas that public bodies are judged on by the government. The survey includes questions on climate change and whether Peterborough is a good place in which to live, work and play.

Participants have been selected from the Postal Address File and those who complete the survey are given the chance to win £100 of vouchers for a store of their choice. The deadline for surveys to be returned is Monday 15 December 2008.

The results of the survey will be incorporated into the improvement plans of the city council and its strategic partners.

Councillor Graham Murphy, cabinet member for housing, regeneration and economic development, said: "Residents have just a few weeks left to return the New Place Survey. It is a further chance for Peterborough residents to have their say about services in Peterborough, whether they are satisfied with them and the areas they would like to see improved.

"The comments people make really can make a difference. For example, at a consultation event people said they would like more frequent street cleansing. As a result the frequency has been increased from once every 12 weeks to once every six weeks.

"We are committed to working with other agencies and residents to create a bigger, better Peterborough for all our residents. Peterborough City Council wants people in Peterborough to be proud of the city in which they live and to get involved in shaping how it will look in the future."

Residents who would like to take part in any similar surveys as a member of the Citizens Panel should email consult@peterborough.gov.uk. Alternatively call Rowena Sampson, consultation and engagement officer on 01733 747474, or write to Neighbourhood Services, Bayard Place, Broadway, Peterborough, PE1 1HX.

Ends.
