Education
We will provide for schools informative talks on Pest control
so young people will have a better understanding of the creatures
in our environment. Many species of insects are extremely
beneficial and with a suitable understanding can live along side us
without the need for control.
We will use as far as possible as many visual aids and samples
as possible to provide an interesting and highly educational
talk.
We can also provide talks to various organised bodies such as
Rotary clubs and Women's Institutes.
The Dog service is currently working with the Schools
Education department to provide Responsible dog owner's talks to
schools. Talks can take the form of dog welfare, legislation, dog
behaviour and responsible dog ownership.
We also provide dog-deterrent sprays, which will be
incorporated in a dog behaviour presentation. These have been
attended by such organisations as the Royal Mail that have found
them very beneficial. There is a reasonable charge to supply dog
deterrent sprays and more information can be provided by contacting
the Dog service, contact details at the bottom of the page.
We believe that knowledge and understanding of Pest control
and Dog behaviour will provide a better understanding and create a
better environment in which to live.
Advice is always possible over the telephone. Insect
identification can be undertaken if the sample is sent into the
Pest Control Team. It should be sent in a crushproof
container with contact details attached.
For further information, please contact the
Pest and Dog Team .
