The Council of Friends meets at monthly intervals, on the third Thursday of each month - excluding August - a lunchtime lecture is held at the museum.

Activities of organisation or services provided

To promote and support the museum through fundraising, educational activities, outings, events. During August Coach trips are arranged to other Museums and Art Galleries. Each year the Martin Howe lecture and the Senior Schools lecture are held. All lectures are open to the general public.
