Club Premises Certificate
These will provide authorisation for qualifying clubs to use
club premises for qualifying club activities. These are the supply
of alcohol by or on behalf of a club to a member for consumption on
the premises, or the sale by retail of alcohol by or on behalf of a
club to a guest of a member for consumption on the premises, and
the provision of regulated entertainment by or on behalf of a club
for its members and guests.
Definition of a Qualifying Club
- There must be an interval of at least two days between a member's nomination / application for membership and their admission
- There must be at least 25 members
- The club must be established and conducted in 'good faith' (this involves consideration of details such as club finances)
Application Information
An application for a certificate must be made to your relevant
licensing authority and will need to include:
- a club operating schedule - including details of activities; operating times; and steps taken to promote the four licensing objectives
- a plan of the premises
- a copy of the rules of the club
- other matters which may be required by the government
You are also required to advertise the proposed changes and
provide notification to relevant responsible
authorities.

Application Decision Making
The licensing authority will grant the certificate unless
there are relevant representations made which need to be considered
in a hearing. The result of a hearing may be either to grant the
club certificate or to reject it.
