What happens if a birth is not registered within six weeks?
After six weeks a formal requisition demanding attendance is
issued. If there is no response to this formal notice the parents
are liable to prosecution. If there is likely to be any difficulty
attending within the six week period consideration will be
given to extending the period if there are good reasons for doing
so.
