Planning Process - Application Registration
Submit planning application with all required documentation - plans, fee and other information. See Application Form for more details of required documentation.
Application Received:
- when a planning application is received it is validated and registered
- once registered the application is allocated to a specific case officer
- a letter will be sent to the agent/applicant informing them who that case officer is
- the public, internal and external consultees, parish councils and ward councillors have 21 days in which to comment on the application (full details on the consultation process is annotated in the Peterborough Statement of Community Involvement)
- the case officer will carry out a site visit
- planning services staff will then review the application, considering any views received from other parties and may discuss any necessary alterations with the applicant. They will also look at current local plan policies and current government legislation
- a decision can then be made
- it may take up to 8 weeks (or more) for a minor application to be decided
- it may take up to 13 weeks (or more) for a major application to be decided, or 16 weeks if an Environmental Impact Assessment has been submitted
