What areas qualify for Urban II funding?
Urban II funding is available to those areas of Peterborough
most disadvantaged and in need of regeneration.
These are defined by reference to a number of indices, relating to
employment, education and skills, income, health, crime, and the
environment.
The area is made up of census Enumeration Districts, each of
around 200 households. Although the boundaries
do not match political wards, most streets in the following wards
are in the Urban II area:
Central,
Dogsthorpe, East,
North, Paston,
Ravensthorpe
Additionally, a number of streets in the following wards are
also in the designated area:
Park,
Walton
Around 24% of the population of Peterborough fall within the
designated Urban II area.
