The Commissioning
Body
This group maintains overall strategic
responsibility for Supporting People in Peterborough and its
membership consists of representatives of the Chief Executives and
Directors of the organisations that the key partners in the
programme the Local Authority, Cambridgeshire Probation Service and
the GPPCP.
Providers Forum
This group has responsibility for ensuring that
the views of providers are represented in the administration,
development, commissioning and improvement of the Supporting People
programme, and that providers have a forum where they can exchange
information with the Supporting People team.

5. Consultation
The Commissioning Body will consult before
introducing new or amended policies. Proposals will be formulated
and issued for consultation and responses will be considered before
final decisions will be made. Policy Development work will be
undertaken by the Core Strategy and Development Group who will
advise the Commissioning Body and make recommendations
accordingly.
Consultation methods will be dependent upon the
policy being introduced but will include at least:
- consultation document prepared and placed on website
- consultation document issued to stakeholders
- consultation document available in other formats and languages upon request with posters informing service users of this availability
- provider forum consulted
- consultation events organised for significant policy changes
6. Service user and potential service user involvement
There are number of key areas that will be used
to communicate with service users and potential service users
including:
- consultation with service users and potential service users over the development and annual update of the Supporting People Five Year Strategy through a number of service user forums
- consultation with service users through the service review programme
- public meetings and conferences where appropriate
- circulation of consultation materials to key people/groups
- consultation via the website
- feedback from providers
- questionnaires
- small meetings sometimes part of existing groups rather than a special meeting for Supporting People
7. Targets
- Commissioning Body to meet at least twice a year
- CSDG to meet at least twice a year
- providers forum to meet at least twice a year
- newsletter to be issued to stakeholders at least twice a year
- strategy to be updated annually
- annual surveys to be carried out to ensure that awareness of
- Supporting People is increased
- annual meeting of Commissioning Body and CSDG to be held
- annual Supporting People seminar to be held for providers, service users and all other stakeholders
