Holywell Ponds
These ponds at Longthorpe originally belonged to a medieval manor. It is possible that the original ponds were laid out in the middle ages to supply fish to the manor.
During the nineteenth century the grotto and spring formed part of a distillery and the water was used by Rev. Skrimshire for the production of peppermint water. Traces of this distillery were located in 1975.
