Monitoring travel plans
All travel plans should contain a monitoring plan that
identifies indicators by which progress towards the travel plan
targets are measured. Indicators might include:
- Modal Share or Split (including drive alone rate)
- Change in levels of use of particular transport modes
- Number of cars in car park, bikes in sheds etc
- Car/cycle mileage claims for business travel
- Uptake of particular initiatives
If it is not possible to conduct a travel survey prior to
occupation, this must be undertaken and submitted to PCC within
three months post occupation. Ideally trip predictions should be
used as a baseline upon which to develop targets. Monitoring should
then be conducted annually thereafter. Monitoring information
should then be used to review the travel plan targets and to
identify new targets fort he coming year. All monitoring
information should be shared with Peterborough City Council's
travel plan officer by e-mailling travelchoice@peterborough.gov.uk
