Cycling home page
Peterborough is unique for cycling, as it
has the Green Wheel with several routes joining it with the city
centre.
The terrain in and around the city is ideal for cycling as the
land is very flat. There are over 200km of cycleways, with
over half of those being off road, to help you get about the city
for business or take a leisurely cycle instead.
Ride the Green
Wheel
The Green Wheel is National Cycle Network regional route 21
and completely circles the city taking in places of breathtaking
beauty and interest.
The Green Wheel has an outer route and also some inner
sections. The outer route circuit is 45 miles
(72 kilometers) long and will take you through the Fenland
droves of the east and close to the ancient woodlands of the
west.
Whether you are out to take the ultimate challenge of riding
the Green Wheel's 45 miles of energy explosion or just peddling
through part of it taking in the lovely scenery, you will never be
far from a friendly place to stop for refreshments.

Network
