Education on Street Cleaning
Peterborough City Council is working hard to create a better
street environment for everyone. Our first objective is to deliver
clean, tidy streets throughout the City, 365 days of the
year.
If you wish to be sent any of our leaflets click
here to access our online forms.
A core part of our work is educating and campaigning to change
people's behaviour and attitudes towards the street environment. We
need everyone to adopt a responsible attitude towards their own
rubbish. This work is covered by such programmes as the ongoing
Don't Drop it or You'll Cop it! campaign.
The Authority provides a document to local schools and
community groups identifying the types of education offered by the
department. The authority also actively gets
involved with groups running competitions and
events. These may take the form of litter
clean-ups, painting litter bins for the
playground, general activities and environmental
activities such as document writing and presentations by
pupils.
