What is the Benefit Service?
Peterborough City Council is required by law to administer the
award of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit.
The Housing Benefit scheme is to help people on a low income
pay their rent. The Council Tax Benefit scheme is to assist people
on a low income to pay their Council Tax.

At any one time approximately 15,000 claims are in payment, in
the Peterborough area making annual awards in excess of £50

We currently provide a selection of leaflets/forms which can be downloaded.
This now includes an application form for Housing and Council Tax Benefit which you can
print off, complete and then hand it in or send it to our office.
