Council and democracy
"Growing the right way for a bigger, better
Peterborough"
Do you know who your councillor is? Find my Councillor
Peterborough City Council is a unitary authority providing all
local government services to the people of Peterborough
and its surrounding villages.
This includes children's services and education, environmental
services such as transportation, housing, trading
standards, street cleansing and refuse collection, cultural
and leisure services, and social services.
Our vision is of a council that provides a quality of
service that genuinely contributes to making Peterborough the place
to be in the Eastern region. The quality of services will match
anything available elsewhere, public or private sector.
We are one of Peterborough's largest employers, with over
6,500 members of staff and a budget of more than £217
million.
