In order to start a logical review process of the walking network, a desk based prioritization of pedestrian routes has been undertaken. Routes have been ranked according to the number of key destinations they serve and the likely number of people using those routes.

 

The strategic prioritized network project was completed in 2006 and will be used to guide the on-street walking review process starting in 2007. The findings from this will be used to guide future investment in the pedestrian network.
