Cabinet members
A cabinet member takes responsibility for ensuring that the
services within his or her key area are delivered to the public.
This includes checking that the service budget
keeps within the approved cash-limit, leading on strategic
direction, liaising with external organisations, establishing
policies and guidelines, ensuring service objectives are met and
monitoring performance. The cabinet member also
leads the improvement programme in that service
area.
