Mayoralty of Peterborough
Peterborough City Council elects a Mayor to serve for one
year. Councillor Patrica Nash was elected Mayor on 19
May 2008.
The Mayoral Year is always busy and the Mayor will attend many
functions including formal civic events and the Annual Meeting of
the Council.
At the beginning of the year the Mayor will nominate charities
who will receive the proceeds from his fundraising during the
year.
The Mayor receives many invitations to events and functions
throughout the year and many of these will be attended by the
Deputy Mayor Councillor Gul Nawaz who will be accompanied by his
consort, Mr Akbar Sait.
