Scrutiny Committee
The Scrutiny Committee is a cross-party committee which
does not include members of the
Cabinet.
It monitors the work of the Cabinet and senior officers and is responsible for scrutinising and monitoring the decisions made by the Cabinet, by individual cabinet members or by senior officers, and makes appropriate recommendations. It may call-in and suspend any decision of Cabinet or cabinet members before implementation. It also monitors the performance of the council in relation to the Corporate Strategy, best value and other inspectorate reports, and reviews and monitors the council's service delivery.
