Educating your child at home

The law allows for children to be educated at home.

 

There is a requirement for the local authority to receive notification when a child is removed from a school roll for the purposes of elective home education as it has a responsibility for monitoring the appropriateness of the education being provided.

 

Parents should be aware that elective home education can be demanding and parents are entirely responsible for funding it, including the costs of materials and examination entries
