Issues and Options Consultation
From 6, June 2005 - 5, July 2005 informal consultation took
place on the Issues and Options
paper. Representations
(623kb, 172 pages) were received from a wide variety of
organisations and individuals.
Following this informal consultation, additional
locations were identified. Consultation on these
additional locations took place between 30, January 2006 -
13, April 2006.
Representations were received on these sites.
The representations from both consultations will be used
to shape the Preferred Options papers due to be produced later in
2006. Full versions of the representations can be viewed at Bridge
House, Town Bridge, Peterborough between 9am - 5pm,
Monday to Friday.
Background on the minerals and waste framework is also
available.
Further consultation will take place as preparation of the
Minerals and Waste DPD's progresses.
Sustainability Appraisal / Strategic Environmental Assessment
The Minerals and Waste DPD's will be the subject of a
sustainability appraisal (SA) and a strategic environmental
assessment (SEA) in accordance with current legislation. The
policies and proposals will be appraised against local economic,
social and environmental objectives.
The
SA / SEA scoping report was published in June
2005 and comments were sought by 5, August 2005. The comments
and any resulting actions will be set out in the appendices of the
Sustainability Report to be published alongside with the Preferred
Options paper in November - December 2006.
The Minerals and Waste Core Strategy, the Minerals and Waste
Site Specific Proposals document, and the Location and Design
of Major Waste Facilities Supplementary Planning Document will
be appraised and a Sustainability Appraisal Report (SAR) for each
produced. These will be made available as part of the consultation
process for each document.

The Location and Design of Major Waste
Management Facilities Supplementary Planning Document was
adopted on 28, April 2006.
