This section explains when and how to present your bins for
collection.

How we ask you present your bin for collection
There are certain ways in which we ask residents to present
their bins for collection
- Bins are to be placed out only on your designated collection day and by 7am.
- Do not let your bin cause an obstruction. Store your bin on your own property and only place it out for collection on your designated collection day .
People who leave rubbish or bins out on the street face a fine
(£100 fixed penalty notice). Offences in relation to
waste receptacles (Section 46 Environmental Protection Act
1990).
No excess waste collected
In a bid to clean up Peterborough's streets the Council has
rules on excess waste.
- We are unable to collect excess waste placed at the side of the bin
- We are unable to collect excess waste that prevents the bin lid from closing
- Excess waste will be placed back in the bin for your next collection once the bin has been emptied

People who leave rubbish or bins out on the
street face a fine (£100 fixed penalty notice).
