This page is to keep residents up to date with how well Peterborough is recycling.  We would also like to say a big thank you for all the hard work you have been doing in making our recycling scheme a success!! 

 

 

Current recycling and composting figures

 

2006/2007 final figures:

Recycling rate:           19.22%  
Composting rate: 24.53%  
Combined rate: 43.75%  

 

2005/2006 final figures:
Recycling rate: 17.15%  
Composting rate: 18.49%  
Combined rate: 35.65%  

 

Beacon Status Award for Waste and Recycling 2006/2007

 
The Recycling in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough (RECAP) partnership has been granted Beacon Council Status for Waste and Recycling 2006/7.
 
Beacon status is awarded to those authorities who have shown innovation and achievement in particular fields. Beacon Authorities are required to share their best practice with other authorities.  Peterborough City Council, as a member of the RECAP partnership will now share best practice with other local authorities about waste management practices and recycling initiatives.

Peterborough celebrated for partnership working by national Waste Resources Action Programme (WRAP)

 
Peterborough City Council as part of the RECAP partnership with other Cambridgeshire authorities, has had its partnership working celebrated and highlighted as a success by the national Waste Resources Action Programme (WRAP).
