Real Nappies

This section aims to explain all aspects of using real nappies from what they are, how to use them and why to use them.

Real nappies are made from cotton rather than plastics, paper and chemicals.  They are designed to be washed after every use in your washing machine and can be used again and again, not just for one child but for many.  Unfortunately real nappies are associated with negative images of old-fashioned Terry towelling and the time and effort they used to involve.  In fact, real nappy use is growing every year thanks to easy-to-use modern real nappies.  Modern real nappies are shaped, fitted and fasten easily without pins.

As an Environmental City, Peterborough City Council supports the use of real nappies and is currently trying to gain opinions of nappy users, their perceptions of real nappies and information on the types of nappy they use.  Please take a few moments to share your views with us and complete the Peterborough Nappy Survey giving you the chance to win one of 6 fantastic real nappy gift packs.
